Belong understands that COVID-19 has brought unprecedented disruption, anxiety and worry to international students around the world. As it is our company’s purpose to help our students live and study better, we are committed to helping our students as much as possible during this challenging time.
Cancellation and Holding Deposit Refunds
1. In the event a student experiences any of the following circumstances:
a. a student’s visa is rejected or cancelled, or where visas are not being processed in the student’s home country;
b. a student’s flight is cancelled due to COVID-19 and there are no alternative flights available;
c. the student’s university, college or school has delayed or suspended the start of semester, or where only online lessons are being offered;
d. a travel ban in Australia or in the student’s country of departure prevents the students from arriving in Australia;
e. the student or a family member falls ill due to COVID-19,
Belong will use its best endeavours to either:
• refund any Holding Deposit the student has paid in full, less a $200 + GST administration fee; or
• defer the student’s booking to the next semester free of charge.
2. A student wishing to apply for a refund or deferral must:
a. submit a written application to Belong by email at least 21 days before their scheduled move-in date;
b. the email application must set out the reason for the deferral and adequate written evidence of one (or more) of the circumstances in clause 1 above.
